this power point is a m e s s but i think that a lot of the complaints about 3d animation stems from the misconception that it’s the easier solution to 2d, which it fucking isn’t.

this is a huuuuge simplification of some of the processes of computer animation but there’s a few things that people don’t know and don’t think about and hopefully this sheds some light on that and helps erase the stigma that 3d animation is really easy.

Claymation is technically 3D animation, so actually 3D animation is quite old. If you want to be pedantic.

i also love to hear people saying they hate ‘cgi’(which translates to computer generated fucking image(so basically every animated feature of disney since rescuers down under were part computer generated, since they used a program pixar created which lets them colour in the frames automatically WITH A PC BUT COMPUTERS ARE EVIL NO REAL ANIMATION ITS ALLLLLL FAAAAKE AM I RIGHT THOSE MOVIES ARE HORRIBLEEEE)) when most animated feature films used cgi technique since the early 90’s.

Today @ Challengers… We don’t often publicly mix our personal beliefs with the business side of running Challengers. We do it privately; of course we want to run our business in accordance to our personal morality, but we usually don’t broadcast it or get involved in Internet disputes or pilings-on. That being said… 

DC Comics is releasing a new anthology series, ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN, which features a story by sci-fi author and vocal gay-rights opponent Orson Scott Card. The book will be released digitally first with a printed edition to follow. As you can imagine, there is quite the comics community uproar over Mr. Card’s personal beliefs. In fact several stores are boycotting the book altogether. We are not going to do that. Instead, we are offering you the choice to buy this book from Challengers, knowing that if you do, we will donate 100% of our profits from each sale to the the Human Rights Campaign. 

I think W. Dal Bush put it best when we were discussing this via email: “I’d rather take his book, that his royalties might go to anti-equality causes, and use it to fund pro-equality causes. Plus our profits per book are more than his royalties per book, so, like, double f**k him.”

Dexter’s Rude Removal (1998)

This morning Adult Swim officially released the infamous unaired Dexter’s Laboratory episode, Dexter’s Rude Removal.

In the height of the show’s popularity, the crew put together an episode that was meant to air during late night television but it was never shown due to Cartoon Network backing out. Since then the episode, which after an experiment goes wrong features duplicate versions of Dexter and Dee Dee with mouths like sailors, was only shown in small private screenings as well as a few conventions.

Well, now it’s online and everyone and their mother can watch it, all though you might not want to watch it with your mother… or at work. The cursing is bleeped out but still, warning for adult language.
